Pitch (needs context)
I’m going to produce a film extract as a part of my coursework. This film will be entitled ‘There’s something about Georgina.’ The film follows a woman who is being threatened by a thug and is eventually rescued, they then have another encounter the next day where they seem surprised to see each other. In this film I will try to make use of focus pulls and camera movements/shots and my knowledge of Pre- and Post-production processes. My target audience are Teens/Young Adults who are interested in more story driven films rather than all action. This will be distributed via YouTube. The main themes of my film are love, danger and conflict.
Most of my film takes place in a dark alleyway where a woman is being followed by a man who wants to take her money when another woman fends off the man, both women seemingly know each other and leave. The rest of the film is set in a coffee shop where the woman is talking to the owner as they are friends when a suspicious man, possibly affiliated with the previous thug, enters the shop, shortly followed by the woman from the previous night. My film will make use of conventional character roles and film techniques/ mise-en-scene to present a particular genre.
You should choose me to film this as we have a unique and creative idea, additionally all the members of my team are immensely creative. We will make good use of focus pulls which are hard to pull off but create a professional Hollywood standard scene. Potential limitations would be budget and crew availability. I will overcome these problems by adding anything that could not be done at the time in post and scheduling my cast/crew so that we have designated filming days.
